I am trying to find details about my father Jurgis Martinkaitis.
I have found some details on this web site about his involvement in a group parachute jump in the 1930's.
He spoke about flying in Lithuania before the war and his escape from Lithuania.
He was born in Bialystok in 1914 and emmigrated to Australia in 1949. Jurgis was involved in gliding and power aircraft flying in Australia. Sadly he passed away in 2005.
If anyone can help me understand more about my fathers history I would be very grateful.
